LIVING
A MAYOPIC LIFE
WE live in an art gallery of divine
creativity, and yet we are content to gaze only at the carpet; or what is
pathetically worse is that we ask for more proof, as if God were some magician
we could summon for a thousand naira. While people sit and complain of all
their challenges, others prostitute themselves before the pimps of power fame,
wealth and other materialistic things.
We lose focus of our creator,
protector, director and mentor, yet his love is inexplicable without logic or
rationality. We let ourselves roll in the mud of self pity, and the devil
joyously flaunts our failures at our faces. The putridness of our past
continues to define our present and even our future.
In spite of our short comings and
disobedience, he still offers us the compassion of his divinity. He loves us
with such childlike humility and he waits for us to return to him. God knows
that with some of us it takes a lot of reality to snap us to our senses, so he doesn't keep a time clock. Those who scramble in at quitting times get the same
wage as those who beat the morning whistle. I guess that’s what makes grace,
Grace.
